AgoraCart 5 - database import results in 0 products

I exported the database to database.csv. The file opens fine in Excel. I modified it and saved it as database2.csv. I think reuploaded it and did a full import. It says:

PRODUCT database converted from CSV format in file: ./data_files/database3.csv
Converted 21 records, elapsed time: 0 mins.

But there is nothing in the cart.

I tried reimporting database.csv - the unmodified original database file that AgoraCart exported - and nothing happened. Looking at the database file, everything looks fine. What should I do?

Many people seem to have trouble with the import feature of v5.
I don't use the import feature, so I don't know much about it.
What you will want to do is save your database file as a tab delimited file.
Then open in an html editor and replace the tabs with pipes ( | ).
Finally, save the file as data.file and upload to the 'data_files' directory in ASCII mode.
