Post Guess I should've started my own thread....
I'm having the same problem as the girl who started the "Can't edit main page" thread. I tried the suggestions in there, but still to no avail. Help!!

hell-o
need more info. what file and which folder did you try to edit?
please provide a link to your store.
did you remove the %%header%% and %%footer%% tokens or did you replace them completely?
this is a plain html file (or can be) whith the header and footer inserted dynamically in newer versions. if the tables in the content area (between the header and footer tokens) don't match the header and footer files you're hosed.
if you want to use the index.html with the tokens then you should probably paste the header and footer inc files in manually (for development) and set up the content area that way. then remove the header and footer contents and replace with tokens before uploading.
or just make the entire file a plain html and hardcode the agoracart stuff like links and forms into the file.
regards,
dan

index.html in the /html subfolder. I *think* I understood your post (although, I'm limited to basic html for the most part so I had to reread it a couple time lol). I'll try what I think you're telling me to do and report back. Thanks :)

Ok, nope, I'm lost. I'm not entirely sure what you mean about the tables having to match. I can't even edit the text w/o getting the error page.

Ok, I'm an idiot, I'll be the first to admit it! It didn't occur to me to make sure I DOWNLOADED the index.html file in ascii, just to upload it, til I read it in another post. Ok, feel free to laugh at me now lol Needless to say, the problem's fixed. Thanks for the help, though!

Always upload/download any of the cart files in Ascii, except images, .tar or .tgz.
