Post Show Catagories
Hi
I am new a this!
I want the Catagories to show (like they did on the demo) on my index page.
How do I add that to the page?
Thank you
Sue

The code should already be in the store header file...
Did you erase it?

If you still have the default files from the install you should be able to recover it.

I must have erased it.
I was trying to take out line by line of the Agora file, but must have gone too far somewhere.
No I do not have the default, already looked in the other files.

Sue,
Download a fresh copy of the cart and store it on your local computer for reference.

HTH!~

Post SHOW CATAGORIES
Hi,
So basically start all over.
I presume I deleted the number that is at the top;
<script language='javascript' src='http://#######/js.cgi?pca&r=####'></script>

Thanks
Sue

Code:

That is NOT part of AgoraCart...

No, not start all over... Just download a fresh copy of the cart to your local computer and unzip it.
This will give you a copy of all of AgoraCart's default files for you to use as reference.

HTH!

Hi,
Thanks for your prompt reply..
I guess I am dense today!
First I went to do a download, all that comes is the .cgi file. Instructions include how to download to my website. I could not find a way to download to my computer? Of course I could download and the do a FTP transfer... but isn't that a whole new Cart system?

What connection did I delete.( on my www.vinsbourgogne.com/agora/agora.cgi page when I added my body and removed the Agora Cart info)?
What ties me back to my Catagories in my Shopping Cart file (I have 2 out there now, VINS ROUGE & VINS BLANCS)?
I am missing something ...
Thanks
Sue

Sue,
There is agorascript that you need that is found int he default header file.
To download the files, go to:
http://www.agoracart.com/download.htm

Find the .tgz file for the version you are using and download it to your local computer.
Then run it through WinZip or Stuffit to extract the store files.

HTH!

JUst thought of something... you might already have a file that you can pull the code from.
If using v5, look in the 'html/html-templates/templates/TheAgora' directory for a store_header.html file. Study the contents of the file, you should be able to find the info as long as you haven't edited that file....
In the future, make a back-up of original files before editing. That way, if anything goes wrong you can back up, find the error and try again.

HTH!

Hi,
I went and did a download into my website under another folder. There is no store header in this file (under HTML templates- I have them under the first version?), so that did not help. I know with version 5 you can add or make a header/footer under the store manager area.

My original question was how do I get the Categories to show on my opening page (agore.cgi or homepage). You said I may have deleted something ; what did I delete?
What am I looking for ? What calls the categories. My opening page has the tokens for %%Store Header%%, and it works. If I understood why it is not working, or what I am looking for, maybe this would all make sense.
And you are so right. I thought I had made copies, but I saved the changed version-oops!

Thanks again
Sue

Sue,
Your header file is missing the code to do it....
You have to relace the agorascrit code in your header file for it to show up...

Thanks
Just went to the Manager file and generated a standard header, copied the code, and VIOLA.
I actually added it to the body and all is well. It works just fine.
Thanks again. Somehow I missed something when I did a custom header.
