Post add fields to database 
Hi, im new here, i need to add about 6 field for the customer to enter this text at check out and include it in all emails. how do i do this.

What type of text exactly?
In the subject you say, "add fields to database"... References to database generally mean the product info. However, you say in the body of the post, "enter this text at check out"...
So, I'm a bit confused and cannot give an appropriate answer without knowing the type of text you are needing them to enter... Is it text about the product ordered like customization?

Anyway, please elaborate so that we can adequately answer your question.

Fisrt Thanks for answer so quick. My site sell medical id tags and i need to know what they want engraved on them, so i need fields for engraving info front and back of the tag. i would like to have the info in the db and also in confirm emails for future reference in case of a mispell in tag. thank you again. this is my site. www.idtagsforall.com

Okay... now we are getting somewhere...
You want to set that info in the options files for each product... not on the order form...
Reason being, what if someone is ordering 1 for themselves and 1 for their spouse, brother, etc...
each ID tag would need to have its own info connected to the style chosen...

Nothing, you just need to turn off the options security in the store manager.
Whenever you use any kind of option other than a drop-down box, you need to turn off options security.

BTW, what do you mean by, "i tried ans=d"?
