I already told you that you need to speak to the web host to find out why it is not working...
This what I had sent to you before in a PM:
Can you ask your web host if SSL is on the same server???
The store works fine without the SSL URL, but messes up with the SSL.
It looks like SSL might be on a different server or may not be functioning properly...
After all, when it goes to the checkout, the cart is empty... This tells me that the cart_id got lost and the shopping cart's state was not maintained.
Even if I set the store URL to the SSL URL I get the following error in Fire Fox:

Quote:

The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

In IE and Opera, it just "hangs".

This tells me that there is something wrong with the SSL on the server...

BTW, who is your web host?

Post ssl not working
Thank you, I will talk to my host. My web host is 1and1.com
If the shared ssl id on another server what would I have to do?

It has to be on the same server in order to maintain the state.
Ultimately, you will need to discuss with your host what your options are.
If they won't allow the SSL on the same server, then you may need to find a new host...
