Can I restrict shipping costs to one or more categories? Some categories will have free shipping at all times and others will be a specific cost under $100 and free over $100... Is this beyond my capabilities?

Search this forum, the agora2 forum on Yahoo, and the shipping logic information on agoracart.com. You will need to use custom shipping logic for the purpose, so the information may only be available in the Pro Forum. The freebie forums are more or less for just assisting in the basics of the cart.

I would use option files to do it. Set shipping weights/costs to 0 overall. Then set the weight/cost of shipping within the option file for the items that you would do shipping on. Have a custom shipping logic that would then check for the shipping cost/weight and if it falls into the "charge" category you charge them, otherwise it's free.

Post Thank you!
These are pretty good responses! I am close... But the thing is I can set the shipping for individual items okay and that works, but the items that we do charge on is a fixed rate under $99.99: $4.50. So I don't need to charge 4.50 more than once as long as the purchase price is under $99.99. Then everything total purchase price over $100 is free. So if a customer ordered two items totaling say $60 that requires shipping should only require ine 4.50 charge for shipping... And like I said earlier we have two categories for items that never require shipping. So it's kind tricky...
