 Required Product Purchase
Is there any way to enforce the purchase of one product as a condition of purchasing another? I have 2 products: A and B. I need a check at checkout to make sure that IF product B is in the cart, then product A is also. Is there a module for this?
Thanks,

are you comfortable with editing perl files? right now i have the hack for agora.cgi but there are two more places that need to be hacked to assure the 1st or 2nd part is completed. i'm going to hack step one of checkout so the customer cannot check out until both parts are in the cart.
so it will probably involve hacking agora.cgi, agora orderpl and the gateway orderform or combo if that's in use.

 Hmmm
Well...No I'm not comfortable with Perl. I'm a PHP gal. But it looks like I'm going to be getting my hands a little dirty in this anyway, so I guess I may as well give it a shot. I have backups! Do you need me to send you some files? The agora.cgi is untouched from the original install of 5.5.
Thanks!

if you're familiar with php then you'll do ok with perl. the rules are very similar. so with decent instructions and the code you should be ok.
gotta run but holler. i am busy and get sidetracked so don't think i'm ignoring you.

A simple way would be to have product B as a required option of product A...
HTH!

No, that won't work in this case because both products are downloadable files. And there's not an easy way to associate downloadable files with options, only with products.
Dan, can you send me that hack you mentioned? Thanks!

Sure there is... You hard code the product info into the option file as another product...
BTW, v5.5 Gold with Booster Pack handles downloadable files....
