Hi,

I accidentally created a new category by mistyping an existing category name when adding a new product. To fix this error, I went to edit the product and corrected the misspelled category name. That product did get moved to the proper category, but now I have an un-named category with, supposedly, two products (the button for this category just has the numeral two surrounded by parentheses).

All my attempt to delete this category via the Store Manager have failed. I'm stumped. Help!

Export the database, download using FTP (Ascii mode), edit using a spreadsheet program or text editor, upload and import.

You may have empty lines in your database. Empty lines at the top or middle of your database would show as an unnamed category.

Thank you to both milehightrader and scottcrew!

It was a combination of empty lines and what I think was the product number that was listed as something like %%IMG%%imagename.gif. Don't know how that happened, but patching up the database file worked like a charm.

Now if I can just find someone who's figured out how to modify the table layout for the shopping cart...

Happy to hear the problem is solved. Most of the time database problems are due to typos, syntax, forbidden characters, or uploading as binary.

As for modifying the cart layout, there is a string from yesterday on the agora2 forum on Yahoo you might want to check out.
