Post resizing code for multiple browsers
I'm working on the same sort of issue, my Main Store/Home page doesn't auto-size for clients like the rest of the store does. This is a new install, I've been working on it for a few weeks, getting absorbed in the whole fascinating process of AgoraCart. Anyways, if someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. The site is

My guess is the agorastyles CSS - ?

background : #FFFFFF;
color: #000000;
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
font-size : 10pt;
font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
min-width: 500px;
/* Internet Explorer doesn't accept min-width therefore we
use the following Dynamic Expression to set the width */
width:expression(document.body.clientWidth < 850 ? "500px" : "100%" );

I tried running a JS that resized the body, but the table body didn't like it, and the script required strict dt, which my server/or Agora kept changing back to transitional.

You should be able to alter the DOC type in the manager now!
management settings >> Primary/Core settings >> scroll down to : Store header settings -misc

If not, put it in Freeform Logic, box 1, like this >>
$sc_doctype = qq|<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" ""> |;

As for the CSS it could be being pushed out by the underlying nested CSS in class="ac_ppinc_content" or class="ac_content"
The body will set a width but if the nested CSS is forcing extra width in other tables, Div's etc it could push the page out.
Haven't had time to look at your CSS yet, but if you are still getting problems, come back and I'll take a more indepth look.

Also I noticed your random "whats in the store" display is not actually working, I'm presuming you are not interested in using it. If that is the case, it will not hurt to remove it.

Hope that helps.

In your store header file, you have the following:
<td valign="top" class="ac_ppinc_content"><table width="600px"  border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
  <td class="ac_content">

See the: <table width="600px" stuff?
Remove the width attribute and it will resize... Currently it is set with an absolute width...

Also, the CSS that controls that main content are are the following classes:

God Bless!
