saving but not displaying a product

Post saving but not displaying a product 
I have products that come and go, sometime they are in season and then come back later. I would like to have them not displayed, so there isn't any question about whether it is for sale or not, but I don't want to rewrite all the information every time it happens. Is there a way to do this?

There is, but it is a feature in the v5.5 Gold version and not in the free version.
It's the inactive products module. It allows you to set a product as inactive and reactivate it again when you need to.
It keeps the product from being displayed when it is set as inactive.
