Post Shipping by lbs. some products from CA. and some from FL. 
I have some products shipping out of CA. and some out of FL.
I want to set up the UPS/FedEx module to calculate the cost by weight to the different locations. it wouldn't be a big deal except some of the products weigh upwards of 1000lbs., the difference could be over $500.00
shipping from CA-FL as opposed to FL-FL

How can I apply a zip code on each product to calculate a shipping cost depending on where it is shipping from and where it is going?

That would probably require a custom programmer to do. Even then, I'm not sure it can be done. Still, it is definitely something that is out of the scope of this forum to handle.

What if we just reinstalled the cart to a different directory on the server and had the shipping module on one set up for FL and the module on the other set for CA?

Then you would have 2 different stores and the orders would not submitted together.

What if we had our products from FL. use only UPS and our poducts from CA. use only FedEX so we could have the UPS an FedEX orgin Zip Codes different?
