Post Delivery vs. Shipping 
Hello,

I have what is probably a fairly unique setup for a customer, and I am wondering if AgoraCart can fill the need or if I'm going to end up having to write my own cart from scratch.

Basically, the customer has a certain radius (might be able to define this as a series of zip codes) in which they will deliver their product. If the customer is outside that radius, then the item will be shipped, and we need to charge them accordingly.

Is this possible?

It is possible, but it would require custom shipping logic.
AgoraCart is very flexible and many different types of shipping configurations have been done with AgoraCart.

It looks like the shipping logic part of the online manuals is under construction. Is there somewhere I can go to learn about shipping logic, or maybe some examples I could see?

I don't mind writing the code, but I don't even know the names of the variables I would need access to...

Have you even installed the cart yet? You might want to get the default cart working and then worry about setting up the shipping logic.
There is some documentation on the shipping in the 'protected/DOCS' directory of the store.
There is also more info at:
http://www.agoracart.com/addon_shiplogic.htm

I don't think any of the examples would help much... but, I have some ideas as to how to do it...

Something I'm thinking is that you might use something like:

$postcode = $form_data{'Ecom_ShipTo_Postal_PostalCode'} ;
$shipping_price = 0 if ($postcode =~ 48329|48328|48327|48346|48348/i ) ;


Of course, the rest of it would need to be handled whatever way you need it to. Or, you can ship the rest of them by weight and use the SBW realtime shipping calculations provided by UPS or USPS.

The cart came preinstalled for my account, so I didn't do any of the setup myself, though I can modify it.

I will take a look at that, and it sounds like your code might even do the trick, if Ecom_ShipTo_Postal_PostalCode is a valid form data field. I'll have to take a look when I have more time.
