Problem importing images from flat file

Post Problem importing images from flat file
I have a customer's database in a flat file, and I'm trying to import it into Agora. Here is a sample line from the file:

JE-0002|Jewelry|93.57|Pearl set|<img src="pearl.jpg">|Pearl earring set|2.00|<img src="pearl-tn.jpg">|

When I import the file and edit any product using the Store Manager, the Image File (column 5) shows like this:
<img src=

After a lot of playing around, I discovered that if I edit the flat file and remove the quotes:
JE-0002|Jewelry|93.57|Pearl set|<img src=pearl.jpg>|Pearl earring set|2.00|<img src="pearl-tn.jpg">|
...things improve, but they're not perfect:
<img src=pearl.jpg
Notice it's missing the closing angle bracket.

After a lot of screwing around, I found this interesting but unhelpful thing. If I alter the last letter of the image file to something other than 'g', the tag completes. e.g.:
JE-0002|Jewelry|93.57|Pearl set|<img src=pearl.jpx>|Pearl earring set|2.00|<img src="pearl-tn.jpg">|
And editing the product shows that field as:
<img src=pearl.jpx>

FWIW, the other image tag shows up just fine in the "2nd Image" field.

I know I'm probably doing something wrong, but I can't figure it out for the life of me.

probably the best way to do this is to set up your image manager the way you want it done. for example you may want your product images here...
public_html/prodimg
this will work best for froogle. suppose you have tons of images and want them in folders sorted by category names...
public_html/prodimg/rings
public_html/prodimg/bracelets
you can do that too.
suppose you want to run all of your images through the store/html/images folder. that's ok too. whatever the case, set up a couple of products with the means of image path you want. get it working then export the dB or just download the data.file. take a look at how the manager writes the data to the dB and use that as a template.

Your database file should look more like:
JE-0002|Jewelry|93.57|Pearl set|<img src="%%URLofImages%%/pearl.jpg" BORDER=0>|Pearl earring set|2.00|%%IMG%%pearl-tn.jpg|||||%%OPTION%%blank.html

HTH!
