The first question that would come to mind is are your images sized by the guidlines?
Quote:
We suggest that you keep main product images under 170 pixels in width and smaller images less than 70 pixels in width.
150-170 pixels max width for regular cart
50 pixels for the small images (if used)

ok most if not all my images on the product pages are 160 pix wide as that is my standard for all and for my thumb naikl pic are 60 pix

should i test a few at 150 pix and see if that brings it in
here take a look at the site may help you just click on any item on top bar

Post RE: product-page.inc file
hell-o
the first problem i ecountered when visiting your site is that you have hardcoded the cart id in your links in your home page (static). your links should look like this in all links on your static pages:

<a href="cgi-bin/store/agora.cgi?cart_id=%%cart_id%&product=JACKETS">Jackets</a>

no spaces; no predefined cart id

for links within the cart:

<a href="agora.cgi?cart_id=%%cart_id&product=JACKETS">Jackets</a>

to link back to your static pages:

<a href="../../index.html">Home</a>

your header and footer are defined wrong. the footer is sliding up under the ppinc.
you need to end the table cell from the header at the beginning of the footer. you have this at the end of the header:

</TD><TD WIDTH="620" valign=top>

<!--END HEADER TABLE-->

at the biginning of the footer you should have at least:
</td></tr>
or possibly:
</td></tr></table>

i'm not sure. you'll have to work it out. it looks like your footer should be:

<!--BEGIN FOOTER-->
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<table border="0" align="center" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="10" width="625">
<tr>
<td bgcolor="#C6C6D7" class=c align=center>
©<script language="Javascript">document.write('2000-' + (new Date()).getFullYear());</script>&nbsp;Thomas Reilly Merchandise. All rights reserved. <br>
Design & Programming:&nbsp;<a href="http://www.one-serve.com">One-Serve.com</a> “Design Excellence”:&nbsp;<a href="mailto:dion@ak.net">dion@ak.net</CENTER>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
<!--END FOOTER-->

back up your current footer then copy an paste the above and check for proper alignment. it maybe wrong but it's closer to correct than what you have currently.

dan

oh my forgot a question/ confermation more i think it be and that is now when i put this new header and footer in my product pages each product page will have it and then i will still be able to use the data base to add items (? only to the catagories i have now ) or will it continue to build the list of catagories if i add newer items? and i believe that should cover me till i get this all running thanks again

Post store header and footer
hell-o
all i did was correct the tables in the header and footer as best i could without having the html source. doing it throught the browser source is unreliable and can lead to errors. so the content and some things may need refinement.

i'm not sure of your question. if you're asking whether or not the links will update automatically then the answer is no. you don't have the agora script in the header, footer or ppinc to auto-generate product category links.

regards,
dan

ok dan so i guess you kinda answered my question as let me make sure this is it ok what i have now after i post this in to my header and footer will only be links to the cataogry inwhich i have the links to in my top menu bar as with the agora script taken out only those catagories will be avable
So then if i want to have more then i need to include the script in the header to do so and a list of new catagories will be under my menu then ?

my main concern was by changing my product page to look more like my static html pages but still have the data base driven feature.

im sure ill have more info on this and other things soon as i am going to get into the agora pro version once i have all my pages built

Thanks again Tom

hello Dan

going back to post #142 above you did some html coding and i want to make sure this is right i am using note tab pro for editing ok here is one of the links to see ok want to make sure its the right path for it

<a href="http://www.thomas-reilly-merchandise.com/cgi-bin/store/agora.cgi?cart_id=&product=jackets" title="Plus Clothing"><img src="http://www.thomas-reilly-merchandise.com/ii/plus_clothing_top_nav.jpg" width="103" height="29" border="0" alt="Plus Clothing"></a>

thanks

Post linking
hell-o
i checked the category link and that is correct. i checked the image link and that is correct.
if i were composing the link i would do it like this:

<a href="agora.cgi?cart_id=%%cart_id%%&product=jackets&xm=on" title="Plus Clothing"><img src="../../ii/plus_clothing_top_nav.jpg" width="103" height="29" border="0" alt="Plus Clothing"></a>

that would be a link from within the store folder in the cgi-bin.

to link from a static page in the public_html directory i would do it like this:

<a href="cgi-bin/store/agora.cgi?&product=jackets&xm=on" title="Plus Clothing"><img src="ii/plus_clothing_top_nav.jpg" width="103" height="29" border="0" alt="Plus Clothing"></a>

this way you're not forcing the client to link out and establish a new connection for images and navigation.

it's possible i may be amiss in the path(s) but it looks ok to me. if you encounter probs then let me know. also, consider the fact that you're in the cgi-bin and may have problems with images. if that's the case let me know. you may have to resort to picserve.

regards,
dan

Post table alignment
hell-o
first thing is your cart id's are hardcoded in the urls on your home page. remove them!
i have a copy of a database generated page so you can take it down or do whatever. i'll take a look at it tonight.
better yet, zip up the header and footer files and email them to me here:
hgltd@yahoo.com

dan
