Who can add products?

Hi,

I am a web designer but completley new to shopping carts - please forgive a begginners question

Just need to know once I have set up the shopping cart for a client can they then login and manage their own products ie add, edit and remove products themselves?

welcome
sure they can. set up a store, log into the store's manager and you'll see the add, edit and delete links. pretty easy. probably the most important advice is
1 maintain a standard for price format... 1.00 not 1 and 1.50 not 1.5
2 be careful about spaces in the category name and the product ID. no spaces
3 never hit the return (enter) key in any of the input boxes such as the product description. enter everything in a continous line. if the description needs to display on several lines then enter like so...

This is the product description.<br>This is a new line formatting the description nicely.<br>Click <a href="some_link">here</a> for more information.<p> </p>

note that even though the above maybe wrapped i never hit the return key.

for each input in the add or edit products there are limitations. some limitations are common between all and some inputs have pecular rules.

there is also a "multi manager" hack available. this will allow users to be granted limited access to the store manager features with their own unique user and passwords. it's a great hack for sale by agoracart if you feel that the site owner or others should be kept out of settings areas.
