Post Using Javascript
I'm curious about something and hope someone can advise me. I made another post quite some time ago about using dependent select boxes for product options on a custom shirt website (where the options in box #2 change depending on what is selected in box #1). I was told that it was possible in AgoraCart with the use of javascript, but was discouraged from using it because people who did not have javascript enabled would not be able to purchase. Most all of the major retailers (J C Penney, Sears, etc.) use javascript to choose sizes/color options in this manner. I realize they probably spend several thousands of dollars having their websites programmed, but wouldn't their sites also be a problem for people who don't have javascript enabled?

I've tried every way I can think of to set up product options and I'm not happy with any of them. The "add-on cost" set-up doesn't work for me because color choices drop from 30+ to 6 between the smallest and largest sizes. I've even tried listing each design as a category and each shirt style as a sub-category and listing the individual sizes as products...but that's extremely time-consuming when you have thousands of designs and several shirt styles for each design. I got so worried beyond hair repair that I gave up on the website idea and just stuck with selling on Ebay, but since their rate increases over the past two years, I'm exploring a website again.

How much of a drawback would it be for me if I used javascript? Any adice would be greatly appreciated.

This is really weird. I did not type "I got so worried beyond hair repair..." I typed "I got so f r u s t r a t e d ..." and my post was changed -- apparently by some kind of filter. Guess I should have previewed it first. LOL I couldn't find a way to edit my post, so I thought I'd better explain.

The only drawback would be if a customer has javascript turned off in their browser.

HTH!
