Database vs Html Definition?

Post Database vs Html Definition?
I am so confused I wasn't even sure what category to put this question into to ask for help? Please forgive me if its a stupid question but.... in the program settings it asks whether the store is database driven or html driven. The products are obviously being entered into the database, but the product-inc pages are all html-based. If I create my own html pages and just link to the cart, wouldn't I be linking to the database? Whew, am I just losing it or is there a definition I am missing. I am pretty much set up, but before I enter all my products (which I was going to upload from a csv file) I thought I should pose the question. Thanks.

The information at the following links should help you understand the difference between static pages and the dynamic pages created by the cart, and how the database fits in.

When I first got started with computers about 1994 I set up a BBS (bulleten board service), which were the predecessors to the Internet for information sharing. We had a phrase, which became like a motto:
Quote:
When seeking knowledge, the only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked.
