Post Testing before publishing
I am about to purchase the Agora program, but would like to know whether, once I purchase it, of course, I can work with the program using my design software prior to publishing it to my web server host.

I'd like to work with the program in order to learn its idiosyncrasies, on a fictitious website, so that once I have to do an actual set up I know what I'm doing.

Thank You
Alex

you don't have to purchase anything. agoracart shoppingcart is free and open source.
use the link in the left nav bar
<<==
to download the program and follow instructions to install or install through your cpanel if you have it.
using wysiwyg editors can be a problem editing perl embeded files directly. make your design in your editor then split out the header and footer as explained in other potsts in this forum. then add your agorascript to the areas you want them to show up with a plain text editor.
nearly all files are transferred in ascii. all files that you will be editing directly will be an ascii file. the wrapper files and some of the gnupg/pgp files are binary as are any media files. so ftping in the proper mode for each file is manditory. don't use your cpanel file manager or any other program that you can't confirm the mode of transfer or adjust the mode of transfer.
you can join the pro group for enhanced features and modules available only to pro members. also there is a basic pro version of agoracart.
good luck
d
