White background & image problem

Post White background & image problem 
Hi guys,
I'm fairly new to all this, I get HTML okay and dipping into CSS and stuff. I can't figure out for the life of me why the hell my background on my home page is white (as well as the other pages). Complete mystery to me...

Also, in my cart the "add" button (I guess?) is not showing up, same for product images. All these are probably a click of the mouse to everybody else but I almost want to give up...

Primary/Core Settings the following settings must be as follows, nothing else should be in these fields:
URL of Imges:
Code:
html/images


Self Serve Images? NO

disk path of images:
Code:
./html/images


Check your store URLs that are set in the manager.
They MUST be:
http://darancou.startlogic.com/agora/agora.cgi
No leading or trailing spaces.
If you are not using SSL, you must still input the store URL in that field.
