Post PayPal Click here to Pay Button - not displayed in Safari
Customer is using Mac / Safari. When order and address summary is displayed with options to either "Make Changes" or "PayPal Click here to pay" - customer says "PayPal CLICK HERE TO PAY" button is not shown ("?" shows) and customer is not able to proceed to PayPal payment gateway.

All works fine with IE6 or IE7.

Is this an issue with Safari browsers?

Dunno... do you get a security warning about the image?

User said he got a certificate error - but not if he really did or just got the warning message about mix of secure and non-secure images.

Store is: www.littleopera.ca/tickets

I just took a look at your store in the Safari browser and everything looks fine to me...

I am wondering if it has something to do with the (first time) user accepting (or more likely not accepting) the certificate from PayPal.

Can you test:

  • Remove PayPal certificate you likely already installed
  • Complete order and check if Safari now asks to install or accept the certificate from PayPal
  • Don't install / accept the certificate
  • Likely the Pay with PayPal image won't display - but I am curious to know if you can still click the 'button' and proceed to Step 2 (PayPal).

I have asked by (now 2) customers to try this as well. (They are very patient).

Thanks!

it looks as though the user has not accepted the PayPal certficate install to allow the display of the "Pay with PayPal" button (seems apparent by the second picture) - but he says there is no pop up asking him to install and he doesn't have popups blocked or anything like that.

Here are a couple of screen shots of Mac / Safari user order confirmation page and a display or image URLs:

Post Anything new on this Safari issue?
I posted some additional information regarding some Safari issues with Step 2 of order process (PayPal button not displaying). Might there be anything new on this?

Cheers!

One way to handle this would be to snag a button that you want to use from PayPal and put that image in the 'protected/images' directory of the store.
Then in the PayPal payment gateway settings, "URL to the button you'd like to display on your orderform." Put the following (of course change the image filename to whatever it is):
agora.cgi?secpicserve=payapl.gif

HTH!
