USPS Int'l Shipping - anyone else having problems as of late

Post USPS Int'l Shipping - anyone else having problems as of late 
all of a sudden, calculations for international shipments have been crazy. Shipping costs that are normally $25 are now calculating at $177!

so obviously i started freaking out as i get quite a few int'l orders from the site, so i double...triple checked all my settings, and everything looked fine.

i called USPS API support and apparently since the price changes, this has been an issue...

argh Sad

Also, make sure that your AgoraCart Modules are all up to date.

right now im using ver 5.0.006

if i download v5.2, will it just update? or will i have to go in and mess with my settings again?

i'm really trying to avoid goin into all that code again - Wink

No, it's not that easy... There is a lengthy process to upgrade... but v5.0 is buggy...
You can hire someone to upgrade it for you... The going rate for upgrading from v5.0 ot v5.2 is about $45.

Dear customer,

On May 12, 2008 several APIs will be altered in response to the USPS Price Change (http://www.usps.com/prices/welcome.htm). While the APIs listed below will remain structurally and syntactically backward compatible, data changes are possibly substantial enough to affect some integrators. Please contact icustomercare@usps.com (1-800-344-7779) with any specific schema or enumeration questions.


Effective 5/12/2008, the APIs will consist of the following changes:
∑ Integration of domestic and international price changes across all Web Tools APIs that use rates
∑ Merchandise Return API Insurance/Fee calculation updated for 2008 Price Change
∑ PriorityMail/StandardB API Service Standard data updated
∑ First Class Mail International API supports three shapes, machinability
∑ Deprecated GlobalLabelAirmail, GlobalLabelExpress APIs are no longer available
∑ IntlRate API supports three First Class Mail International product shapes now (new enumerations), addition of optional machinable attribute
∑ Signature Confirmation API reflects changed SC fee

Most impacted will be the integrators using RateV2 and IntlRate as shown below.

RateV2: Besides the price differences, there are new services and a renamed service. This also changes the order of the services within the response. Note that RateV2 is in maintenance-only mode and integrators should upgrade to RateV3 to obtain the latest features.

so after posting my thread regarding 'first class international airmail', my international shipping calculator is completely OUT OF WACK again! (same thing occured as described in the beginning of this thread). any advice?

Not at this time. It is out of whack because USPS made some changes to their API with the rate change updates on 1/4/2010... Please be patient, we are working on this.

ahhhh - same error, same problem...thanx for letting me know. Smile

is there something thats gonna have to be done to our carts? or will it just be magically 'fixed'?

Not sure at this point... USPS likes to mess with us when they change the rates... Very a challenge, I know. I currently have a UK customer trying to order through my store and is getting rates 3 times what they should be for his order...
I know what is happening, but not sure how to fix it, at this point...

When things get worked out, the shipping_lib.pl file will need to be updated in the Store Manager's "Update AgoraCart Modules" manager.

Module has been fixed.
Use the update agoracart modules manager to update the shipping_lib.pl file.
