new domain, SAME webhost - what to update?

Post new domain, SAME webhost - what to update?
I just changed the primary domain on my hosting account. That's the ONLY thing that's changed - same host, same root directory, no file movements...only the domain name.

What do I update in Agora to get it working again?

When I try the host-based entrance (http://www.myhostingcompany.com/~myusername/store/agora.cgi) it works fine - when I try (http://www.mynewdomain.com/store/agora.cgi), I get a 500 Internal Server Error.

I was expecting broken images (imagepath was the old primary domain) but I didn't expect the whole thing to go kaput, since it's still on the same server. The config file previously listed (http://www.myhostingcompany.com/~myusername/) as the live site - and that hasn't changed.

Any suggestions? I feel like this should be very easy - maybe I'm just missing the right file? I can't get to the store control panel either, for the same reason, so I'm just fishing around w/ FTP trying to find something logical.

Thanks!

You probably need to wait for the DNS of the new domain name to populate throughout the internet, this can take a few days to do.

Give it a few days and try again...

HTH!

Thanks for your response. The new domain itself was updated yesterday, and everything else seems to work fine - the non-agora pages (mostly using Mambo) and the email are all fully functional. Given that, is the DNS update thing still an issue, or should I keep looking for something else?

I guess the question is - Is there ANYWHERE else in agora that stores domain settings?

Something else I noticed - when I try (http://www.newdomain.com/store/agora.cgi) it immediately bumps me to (http://www.OLDdomain.com/store/agora.cgi) - is this the DNS issue? Why would it fwd like that, when I haven't set it to fwd at all? My webhost's servers have updated...there's got to be something in Agora that I just haven't found yet...

Thanks! :)

Talk to your web host. This is something with how the server is set up and how the domains are set up on the server.
Domain forwarding may be playing a part here.

the manager settings are domain name based. you need to log into your store manager and change the store url and your ssl url(s) if you have the ssl defined. also, any direct links to your store (http) need to be updated as well as any direct links within the store to other store pages or anywhere else on your domain. if you have your images path set to an http path in the store manager that needs to be changed too.
some gateways require a url to your agora.cgi file so that (those) need to be updated to the new domain name. if using auth.net for example you'll have to log into auth.net and change the the authorized store link.
generally any place you put http://www.olddomain.com you need to change to http://www.newdomain.com

dan

Thanks for your message.

Where do I find these settings in FTP?

I can't log into the store manager, or I probably would have already fixed this two days ago. Anything involving agora comes up 500 Internal Server Error, manager included. I haven't changed the webhost - the config file had my account URL (http://www.hostingcompany.com/~account) before, and has my account URL now - NOT either domain yet - but when I put in (http://www.mynewdomain.com/store) it automatically fwds to (http://www.myOLDdomain.com/store) and I can't find where that's coming from - like I mentioned, my config file has my hosting account address, not EITHER domain. I wrote my hosting company, and it's not on their end.

The store is only half built at the moment (will finish on the new domain) so there's no issue w/ direct links or SSH or gateway issues.

So...in what file(s) do I find the primary domain settings thru FTP?

Thanks!

right it's not the hosting that's the problem.
ftp your website. navigate to the store folder then to the admin_files folder.
download in ascii your agora_user_lib.pl file. make a back up. open it up in notepad and scroll down to the following lines:
Code:
$sc_store_url = "http://www.domain.com/store/agora.cgi";
$sc_ssl_location_url2 = "";
$sc_stepone_order_script_url = "";
$sc_admin_email = "sales\@www.domain.com";
$sc_domain_name_for_cookie = "www.domain.com";
$sc_path_for_cookie = "/store";

change these lines to look like this...
Code:
$sc_store_url = "";
$sc_ssl_location_url2 = "";
$sc_stepone_order_script_url = "";
$sc_admin_email = "sales\@www.domain.com";
$sc_domain_name_for_cookie = "";
$sc_path_for_cookie = "";

save then upload in ascii to the admin_files folder. over write your old file.

go back to the store folder and make sure your agora.cgi file is 755.
go to the store/protected folder and make sure your manager.cgi is 755. look over all store sub-directories and make sure they are at least 755. this includes the store directory itself. you may have to change to 777.

your store manager should be located here...
http://www.domain.com/store/protected/manager.cgi
log in and go immediately to the main agoracart store settings and enter the new store url. include the www and the entire http path to your agora.cgi file. save the changes. log out and try the store url. should work now.

regards,
dan
