ok .. this is kinda hard to explain but i'll try my best

i am doing a shop for a deli
and they offer meats.
now there's different offers of weights...
like.. bologna - 1/2lb;1lb;1 1/2lb; and so on
i have that as an option file, and the regular price at "0"
how do i get rid of the "$0.00" ???
or... as an alternative, how could i make the price interactive with the option
like if default is 1/2lb - $1
that if you change it to one pound, the product price changes to $2
???????
hope you understand my question....

here a link to the section of the shop so you can see what i mean:

Dave,
Either way can be done.
Dan posted a hack to hide the zero price. You can find it at:
http://www.agoraguide.com/faq/viewtopic.php?t=1950

You can also do it with a base price starting with your minimum weight and add on to the price. It looks like you may have already been playing around with this on your site.
If 1/2 lb. is $1.00 and you put that in the price field, then, your option would look something like this:
Code:

<SELECT NAME =" option|1|01004">
<OPTION VALUE =" 1/2 lb.|">1/2 lb.
<OPTION VALUE =" 1 lb.|1.00">1 lb. (+ $1.00)
<OPTION VALUE =" 1 1/2 lb.|2.00">1 1/2 lb. (+ $2.00)
<OPTION VALUE =" 2 lb.|3.00">2 lb. (+ $3.00)
</SELECT>

The price in the option will then be added to the base price of the item.

When dealing with weights like this, I now wonder how you are calculating your shipping?
If calculating by weight, we run into the issue of how to add on the extra weight of the options. But, if you're not shipping by weight, it is not a concern.

HTH!

To accomodate for the weight, you add that right to your options. It is the third part of the code:

<option value = " item | additional cost | additional weight ">

So you should set your base weight to 0lbs on the item description page and then update the option to look like this:

<SELECT NAME =" option|1|01004">
<OPTION VALUE =" 1/2 lb.||.5">1/2 lb.
<OPTION VALUE =" 1 lb.|1.00|1">1 lb. (+ $1.00)
<OPTION VALUE =" 1 1/2 lb.|2.00|1.5">1 1/2 lb. (+ $2.00)
<OPTION VALUE =" 2 lb.|3.00|2">2 lb. (+ $3.00)
</SELECT>

Dave,
Did you know that AgoraCart is able to handle realtime shipping calculations?
You just need to set up the weights for the products in the database and for the options(as Carol has explained above), and turn of the SBW module in the manager -> Program Settings -> Shipping Settings.

HTH!
