Post Install trouble
I have tried installing Agora about 10 times now and still now luck. I uploaded the files to my server in the proper format and changed the CHMOD to 755. When I open my browser and go to the cgi I get this everytime:

Quote:
#!/usr/bin/perl
#
# created: 15-FEB-2000
# Updated: 01-JAN-2003
#
# agoracgi.tar extraction version
#
# FTP/WWW Installation Instructions:
#
# This file is actually a perl program that may be used to install
# AgoraCart on a UNIX/LINUX/FreeBSD flavored web hosting server that
# has only FTP access. Wrappers may need to be installed separately.
#

#
# STEP 1 -- Put the correct path to perl on line 1 of this file,
# above.

etc......

Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong?
Also, my host is godaddy, i know....it rocks and rolls should not be eaten together... atleast not without butter.

Thanks!

GoDaddy is the problem and you might need to speak with their tech support...
With GoDaddy you have to manually upload each file and set permissions and hope that none of the files were corrupted in the transfer...
It's so much easier to just find a web host that works with Agora's installer, which many do.
But, there are still these web hosts that don't, a rarity, too...

I know that there are only a few that use GoDaddy with AgoraCart and I'm not sure, but I don't think they were using v5. I think they were using 4.0K-4b, which is very different than v5.
GoDaddy just doesn't seem to be that friendly with .cgi scripts, anyway.

HTH!

Thanks for the info. Could you give me a suggestion for a new host?
