Error on "Complete Order" or "Checkout"

Post Error on "Complete Order" or "Checkout" 
When I click on either "Complete Order" or "Checkout" I get the following error message

%%StoreFooter%% %%head_info%% %%StoreHeader%%

We're sorry, an error has occured.
Please hit the browser back button, change what was done in error, and try again.


along with all the forms to fill out beneath it. Any ideas. So far every error has been caused by me so I should really ask "any ideas on what I am doing wrong." Thanks.

Sounds like you are using order forms from over a week ago.

I checked all the forms and all having shiptocountries was as follows:
if ("$sc_shiptocountries_4forms" ne '') { return
qq|$sc_shiptocountries_4forms|;}

As you can see none had the backslash.
I then logged into manager and went to the Shipping Settings & Logic page where I clicked the Submit button.

Unfortunately the problem still persists. I should have also pointed out that on the left it states:
Your Cart
Items in your cart: 0

This even thought there were two item in there.

In reviewing the store, it lookslike there may be a problem with SSL...
The cart doesn't seem to be able to maintain state once it goes into the checkout.
Try this, set the SSL URL to the regular store URL, just for testing.
Also, clear the cookies from your browser.
Then test the cart through checkout.
If it works, then there is problem with how the server is handling the SSL...
You may need to discuss things with your web host...

Thanks for the quick reply. I did as you suggested and changed the SSL URL to the regular store URL and the errors went away. I will see what I can find out from my webhost. Once again thanks.

Is your host 1and1.com by any chance? I have exactly the same problem when I specify the ssl. So far they haven't been very helpful in resolving it, which is out of character for them.

You may need to threaten leaving their hosting and if they still do not come through, you may be forced to switch to a better web host.
If you do need to switch hosts, I have some very good web hosts listed at:
http://resources.scottcrew.com/host.htm
The 1st 3 hosts are the ones I trust the most.
