Secure cart vs. non-secure cart

Post Secure cart vs. non-secure cart 
Hello,

Can anyone explain to me the difference between the secure and non-secure cart options? Does this mean that with the non-secure option a customers credit card information is not secure? How do I use the secure option? It seems like my initial install defaulted to non-secure and I'm not sure how to use the secure option. Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help!

The store should operate in the insecure mode while the customer is shopping, but when the customer checks out, they need to be on a secure server to input their personal credit card/payment info.

There are settings in AgoraCart's manager in which the URLs ar inputted.
If your web host offeres shared SSL, that is good enough for the check out process. Ask your web host about it and what the URL is for you. The manager will have fields to input this into, too. In particular, the URLs are entered in the manager -> Program Settings -> Main AgoraCart Store Settings
AND
in the manager -> Payment Gateway
