We're switching hosts, and AgoraCart hasn't exactly been the most willing party in the move.

- Passwords: No matter what I do, my cart seems bound and determined to lock me out. I can almost sort of get around by eradicating all .htaccess files, but if I add 'em back then I'm locked out again, even though I'm the one setting the password.

- Main cart: Even after changing all the settings I can find, accessing my agora.cgi gives me an "Internal Server Error".


What all do I need to do in order to make the move from one server to another successful? Is there a guide?

How did you do the move in the first place?
Does your new web host offer AgoraCart?
If so, just install AgoraCart from the cpanel and then upload all of your old files to the new server. Sometimes it just works that way. Make sure everything is back to working *before* setting up .htaccess again.

if doing an update on a cpanel install make sure the vesions are the same and make sure the host didn't alter any files. your best bet is to install the same version using the web method then uploading your customized files. don't use htaccess until your basic store setup has been saved and things are working as expected. this will avoid confusion.

I have similar problem as him. I move agoracart from my old webhost to new one. I upload everything into ASCII and change chmod to 755 for most of the files. The agora cart is running fine. But I am having trouble access to manger store front.

I got this warning :
WARNING No .htaccess file found in the /protected directory. YOU STILL NEED TO PASSWORD PROTECT THAT DIRECTORY

I am the one who set up .htaccess file there but it cannot read and allow me to access to store manger.

Delete the .htaccess file and try to access the manager.
Once you have access to the manager, set up the .htaccess again from the link in the manager.
