Post How do I mirror file updates to a local disk?
I'm new to Agora and want to say Hi and thanks for the support,

Hi

I like to mirror my site on my hard drive to test out changes before uploading and serve as a back-up. How do I know which files Store Manager is changing when I use it on my server? Can I use a local copy of Store Manager and if so, will it function on a Mac ? I'm somewhat familiar with html and tokens and will likely know these answers later on, but I need a little shove in the right direction.

Thanks

hell-o
welcome!
to mirror your site locally and functionally you will need to install a server capable of running perl/cgi.
i think indigoperl has a mac version. not sure.
anyways, once the server is up and running there are some minor changes you need to make to agora in order to run it locally under 127.0.0.1 loopback (you must have at least 2 "." in the url for agora to function properly so don't use localhost as the domain in the url).
don't worry about the changes just don't forget to revert before uploading to your site should you need to upload the files edited for local use.
regards,
dan

Thanks Dan,

I'm not on a network.. sorry for not mentioning that. All I have available is my desktop machine, MacPearl (an editor), and the unix based terminal in OS X. I guess I'm going to have to give up the idea of running Store Manager and try to figure out some other way of synching the files... I'm probably over my head with this.
