want to intergrate google search box with my site

Hello,
I want to replace (but still be able to search my site for products) with the Google search that they provide? Can you tell me if this is possible and where to start?

google should be able to return results for store products. i suspect that you will have to feed google links to each product using p_id= and not product= (category links). it may work with category links but i think it will be less accurate. make a site map divided up by category but don't link to cats and subcats. link only to each and every product by p_id and do not include the cart_id= switch.
once google indexes the products you should get good results from the search feature.
