Post Communicating with UPS
How do I actually get it to communicate with UPS for accurate shipping casts based on weight?

I thought it did it automatically and it seemed to be working fine. But the cost was not accurate, it was in fact way over.

So I must have not set something up or set it up wrong.

Any idea's?

Thanks

in the store manager>shipping manager screen at the bottom you have a choice of wieght per box and how ups receives your shipment. both of these have a direct effect on the rate. make sure your zip code is correct there. make sure you're not adding any handling charge to the order (same screen at the top).
i suppose it doesn't matter whether counter drop off or daily pickup is selected and the total weight of any one package as long as the rates are inline to what you think they should be. you're not bound by the settings in the shipping manager as far as ups is concerned. just dial in the rates so they are as close as possible to what you should think they should be. even if you have to reduce the product weight in the dB for the products.
in real life if you have a 10 Lb. product and it is shipped from your zip to another and you do a counter drop off then the rates should match. to check for actual rate by wieght put a zero in the max wight per box. then the order will be assumed to be all in one box.

Thanks, I think thats it! I had by box weight set to zero, so it was shipping them in individual boxes!
