USPS Problem with Postal codes

Post USPS Problem with Postal codes 
Hi there

I am working on www.kraftykelt.com for my friend and have a problem with USPS. At present the ordering form asks for a State. Now if the order is from New Zealand - my country - and I enter this in the country box- it still wants a State filled in and queries the postal code - expecting a US code? How can I overcome this?

What version of the cart are you using?
Only v5 will handle international shipments originating from the US.

If you are shipping via New Zealand Post, you will need to use custom shipping logic.

As for the "State/Province" field, you can change that field in the order form from a drop-down select box to a text box. Also, if you don't want it as a required field, you will need to edit the gateway's *-order_lib.pl file's required fields array.

Now I'm lost again!

I have this reply from USPS:

Dear USPS Customer,

Thank you for contacting us. Congratulations on completing your testing using the U.S. Postal Service's Internet Shipping Application Program Interfaces (APIs).
Your profile has been updated to allow you access to the Production Server.

1. The Production Server URL is: http://production.shippingapis.com. For APIs calling the secure server, the URL is https://secure.shippingapis.com.
2. There is a line of code that refers to "shippingapitest.dll". You'll need to remove the word "test".

If you are using third party software and need assistance, please contact the vendor of the software. They should be able to assist you in obtaining live information using our APIs.

Thank you for using the USPS Shipping APIs.

The production URL should already be in the Shipping Settings manager.
No testing of the USPS API is necessary... Agora has been throughly tested and is ready for production URL. The production URL was the default URL in the field of the Shipping Settings when the cart was installed.
Please take a look at the following post:

The email from USPS just tells you that you have been added to their production server.
Their instructions are not necessary given that Agora has been throughly tested with USPS and is ready to roll on the production server.

Oh Bonnie - you must have amazing patience for all the dumb Qs you field!

I am still having problems with USPS in www.kraftykelt.com

I keep getting this msg

USPS module error: shipping cost not determined!
Please use your browser's back button or any checkout link/button and correct
any fields as required and try again. Also, make sure your postal code is correct.
You may also need to chose a different USPS shipping method for your destination

This regardless of which USPS shipping method I choose

As far as I can see I have all the right boxes ticked or filled in for USPS.

UPS works absolutely fine but USPS is driving me crazy!

Was your installation of v5 an upgrade or was it a fresh install?
