Glen,
Which fields of the database do you have the images in?
Also could you post the contents of your productPage-search2.inc file?

before you go any further you should clean up some stuff.

store manager>main agoracart store settings
store url:

http://www.gthydro.com/cgi-bin/ecommerce/ac/agora.cgi

ssl url:

https://host219.ipowerweb.com/~gthydroc/cgi-bin/ecommerce/ac/agora.cgi

save it then go to the gateway settings if using offline and use the same ssl url in that form.

https://host219.ipowerweb.com/~gthydroc/cgi-bin/ecommerce/ac/agora.cgi

save it. now fix all the links that are hardcoded to reflect the proper url to the store and within the store.

since you have so many really large nav buttons move them.

make a sub directory in your public_html root directory. like this:

public_html/buttons

move all of your buttons there. now edit your store header and footer to link to your buttons in that directory:

<img src="http://www.gthydro.com/buttons/my.button">

these two things will speed up the delivery and rendering of your store pages dramitcally. further it is the proper way to do things under these conditions.

your cart_footer.inc looks to be corrupted or the gateway you chose in the manager settings is corrupted.

you should add a view cart link to every page in the store or in the store header.

go to edit products in the manager. in user1 edit what you have so it looks like this:

%%IMG%%my.pic

this will display the pics (if needed) in the view cart page and the checkout pages.

there maybe more errors in your ppinc files. not sure. fix those probs then we can look at the rest.

happy new year!

good job! loading faster.
well, it does look like a first time design job. don't worry about that though. you're going to be doing makeovers and changin stuff for a long time to come anyways. just get all your products in and navigation easy to follow and make sure everything works. then you can look at improvements in layout and design. just be sure to keep a copy of this site. 5 years from now when you know lots more you're gonna love it! heck, you should see my first website. looked like lousy but instinctively i knew navigation was important and did quite well in that aspect.

in the store manager>main agoracart store settings, for path to images change to:

html/images

if that is where your product images are. what that is, is kind of a shortcut for acgoracart to know they're in the store/html/images folder. the store code will fill in the rest of the stuff. because your store is in the cgi-bin you can't host your images there and link directly to them. you need agoracart features to render images and html that are hosted in the cgi-bin. you can change the path so your product images are in
html/product_images
but that can come later too. just use the default features for now.

i mentioned that your cart_footer.inc maybe corrupted or your gateway html page. could be the store footer.inc because you have this in the footer:

<table width="800" border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#000000">
<tr>
<th width="143" align="left" valign="top" scope="col">&nbsp;</th>
<th width="637" align="left" valign="top" scope="col"><div align="center">
<h3><span class="style1"><font color="#00FF00">THE GREEN THUMB (WWW.GTHYDRO.COM)</span></h3>
<h4><span class="style1">CREATED BY <a href="mailto:GLENMRICHARDS@AOL.COM">GLEN M RICHARDS</font></a></span></h4>
</div></th>
</tr>
</table>
</form>
</TD></TR><tr><td colspan=3 valign=top>

<table width="800" border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#000000">
<tr>
<th width="143" align="left" valign="top" scope="col">&nbsp;</th>
<th width="637" align="left" valign="top" scope="col"><div align="center">
<h3><span class="style1"><font color="#00FF00">THE GREEN THUMB (WWW.GTHYDRO.COM)</span></h3>
<h4><span class="style1">CREATED BY <a href="mailto:GLENMRICHARDS@AOL.COM">GLEN M RICHARDS</font></a></span></h4>
</div></th>
</tr>
</table>

i've never seen tables without cells before but seems to render ok. LOL
but the trouble is there appears to be unclosed tables opened prior to the store_footer.inc section. these tables should be closed either before the store footer or in the store footer depending on the layout.

btw, which gateway do you have selected for your payment gateway?

the address in the address bar that has dc1 should be the view cart page. there should be buttons for editing qty and continue shopping and check out and stuff. nothing renders. either you took them out or the unbalanced tables aren't showing their contents. if you didn't edit the cart_footer.inc then you need to paste your store_header.inc and your store footer.inc into a single file (header at the top and footer at the bottom Smile) ). now check that your tables are opened and closed in the appropriate fashion.

sometimes if tables are messed up the browser will drop all content it can't make sense of. since the contents are missing for whatever reason i can't see it therefore i can't advise. you are most likely looking at the header/footer problem.

dan

nice job! cleaned it up gooder. LOL
you're not bugging me.
one way of knowing that the manager is set up properly for images is the add to cart buttons work. if they're not showing up then the manager is wrong.
ok getting back to your orginal question.
you're using 2across with the thumbnail in user1 as the image with a "more info" link to the single product using search2 and want a full sized product image along with the description. put the name of the bigger image either in the product image input box or user2.
if you want the product image box then add the %%image%% token to search2 instead of the userfield token.
if you want to use user2 then do the...
%%IMG%%your.pic
in user2 thing. then replace the %%userFieldOne%% token with %%userFieldTwo%%.

btw. you can use options to sell extended warrantees and different reflectors and stuff. there's no apparent need to do any followup for these options. they just select and pay more automatically with store options.

again, you're not buggin me. if you have problems just post.

dan

Hi all, I was also looking to add a larger image on the page that pops up after clicking the More Info link. The solution above worked perfectly for me (I am using the 4 products across template).

I used the "2nd Image:" field and added %%IMG%% before my image name for each product in the store manager, and then used the productPage-search2.inc template and replaced the %%image%% tag with %%userFieldOne%% as directed.

I needed to change the image path to agora.cgi?picserve= to get my custom add to cart or any button for that matter to show up, though.

I hope that the file path settings are correct. I cannot post the url now, b/c I am moving my domain.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the info on this subject Very Happy

you don't need to change the path to picserve to replace the buttons. just name the buttons exactly as the default button names then upload and over write the default buttons. they are located in the store/html/images and the store/protected/images folders.

there are three basic places to place an image for this application. the default product image box, user1 (second image) and any other userfield. we'll refer to user 2 (userfieldtwo).
the following makes things more logical as per cart set up. however, you can change things around if you want but the following is correct for default settings and coding.

generally the product image is used for the ppinc display. the user1 (second image) is used for the view cart image and any other image such as a larger image for popups. 400x400 is a good size for popups but can be larger if needed.

the product image takes an image with a width of about 175 max. this can be increased or decreased depandant on which ppinc you use and how you customize the ppinc. you may also find that a narrower image may be necessary. to call this image in any productpage use the %%image%% token.

user1 (second image) is available if not using for the small image in the view cart display and the cart summary for your check out pages. if using for the cart summary then the image should be around 70x70. if you want to display this smaller image or any other image you put in that field then use the %%UserFieldOne%% token.

if you are using the above fields for their intended use and you need another place to call an image from then you can use another userfield. to use user 2 for example you would simply place the %%UserFieldTwo%% token wherever you need that image to display. most often it is used for a popup so that token would be written into the popup script.

dan

That is what I trying to figure it out and you just help me out here. Thanks!!

Now I learn that when you add product in store manager, there are other 5 different variables that can be define depend on how it was uses. It is very helpful. It is great design, I like that!

oh yeah. userfields are great if you have a lot of unique info to display per product. they can be also used to identify non taxable items, inventory, agorascript that say sif something is found in a particual userfield than do this, if not than do something else and all kinds of stuff. from simple things to complex userfields are invaluable.
there was a 20 userfield add-on but mr ed withdrew it so promembers would have less probs upgrading to the soon to be released prov5. but even at 20 userfields some ppl were needing more.

dan
