Free local shipping

Is there a way to provide free local shipping? Or shipping based on location? My client wants to give free local delivery by courier.

You can set up custom shipping logic to do that and provide a "local delivery" option on the order form.

Don't mean to sound too dumb, but what you just wrote sounds to me like: "If you want moon rocks, you can send a rocket to the moon and include a moon rock collector on the rocket ship..l."

Is there any way you can be a little more specific for me?

I really do appreciate your quick response with all the other questions I've asked, and they really do help.

Sure, I can explain it a bit better...
I try to help people find the answers for themselves, first,
since I don't know the level of understanding you have.
Then when I get a response like yours, I can better tailor my response to your skill level.

Anyway.... to the point....
manager -> Program Settings -> Shipping Settings
Answer the following questions:
Use the custom shipping logic? "Yes"
If using Custom Logic, is shipping measured by weight? If using weight based shipping answer "Yes".

In the shipping logic box put:

@sc_shipping_logic = ( "local_delivery|||1-|0.00");
$shipping_price = &calculate_shipping($temp_total,
$total_quantity, $total_measured_quantity);
